In depth

Fiscal sponsorship done with institutional discipline

Too many "sponsors" offer a logo and a bank account. Paramount Impact treats sponsored projects as programs of a public charity — with purpose tests, documentation, and donor confidence built in.

What Model A really means

Your project becomes a program of Paramount Impact. Legally, contributions are gifts to our public charity, restricted for your project's charitable purposes. We maintain oversight; you lead mission execution within the sponsorship agreement. This is the most protective structure for donors, foundations, and project leaders alike.

Money movement & controls

Each active project receives a segregated subaccount. Disbursements follow approved budgets and charitable purpose tests. Debit cards (when issued) still require receipt upload. We reconcile monthly so you always know the project's available balance.

Compliance without the full 990 burden

You submit quarterly program narratives and maintain documentation. Annual financial reporting is due within 45 days of fiscal year end. Paramount Impact files Form 990 at the organization level — you focus on impact, not building a finance department from scratch.

Fundraising under our umbrella

Donors receive acknowledgment letters from Paramount Impact. Many private foundations will fund fiscally sponsored projects with a letter of support citing our EIN. You may apply for grants in our name when appropriate — we help you present cleanly.

When you're ready to grow

Path to your own 501(c)(3)

Fiscal sponsorship is often the right first chapter — not the last. When your project has stable funding, governance capacity, and a clear long-term plan, we support a responsible spin-out: IRS determination coordination, transfer of remaining restricted funds under agreement terms, and a clean handoff so donors stay confident.

  • No pressure to stay sponsored forever
  • Transition planning built into the relationship
  • Continuity of mission during the legal transition

Who thrives under sponsorship

  • Community initiatives testing a charitable model
  • Education, arts, health, and faith-aligned programs with clear public benefit
  • Leaders who want to fundraise before absorbing full nonprofit overhead
  • Projects that may later join a larger organization or form independently

Political campaigning, private benefit, and non-charitable commercial activity are not eligible.
